【3分钟小故事英语演讲稿】Good morning, everyone.
Today, I want to share a short story with you that may seem simple at first, but carries a deep message. It’s called “The Last Apple.”
Once upon a time, in a small village, there was an old man who lived alone in a house surrounded by apple trees. Every year, he would carefully pick the best apples and sell them in the market. But one day, he became very sick and couldn’t take care of his trees anymore.
His neighbors noticed that the trees were not being tended to, and the apples were falling to the ground, rotting. One day, a young boy from the village walked by and saw the old man sitting under the tree, looking sad.
“Why don’t you take care of your trees anymore?” the boy asked.
The old man sighed, “I used to love these trees, but now they don’t bring me joy. They just remind me of my loneliness.”
The boy thought for a moment and then said, “Maybe you can still find joy in them. Let me help you.”
From that day on, the boy came every day to water the trees, prune the branches, and even pick the apples. He shared them with other children in the village, and soon, the old man began to smile again.
One day, the old man asked the boy, “Why did you do this?”
The boy replied, “Because I saw the beauty in what you had, and I wanted to help you see it too.”
The story ends with the old man realizing that even in loneliness, there is still hope, and that kindness can heal more than just the heart.
So, what can we learn from this story? Sometimes, the smallest acts of kindness can make the biggest difference. And even when life seems hard, there is always someone who can help us find our way back to joy.
Thank you for listening.
